What is the difference between Genius and Canvas?

Genius is CLRC's student information system (SIS) and will serve as your student and parent portal while you are enrolled at CLRC. This portal contains:

  • Basic student information: name, age, grade, address, etc.
  • Linked guardian accounts
  • Associated state or charter schools, if applicable
  • Grades and assignments synced from Canvas

Genius is also the recommended starting

In Genius, parents can edit basic student information, enroll their student(s) in courses, and make payments toward each student's fees.

Canvas is our learning management system, where you’ll find general course information (virtual classroom url, instructor information, announcements, etc.), as well as student assignments, grades, and more.

Important: In order to upload assignments, a student must be logged into his/her student Canvas account. Guardian accounts are not able to upload work or complete assignments.
